About Kinloch

Kinloch is one of New Zealand's most quaint and charming villages.
It is located on the northern shores of Lake Taupo, only a 20 minute drive from the town of Taupo itself. The full time population of Kinloch is around 400, and in the summer the town comes alive with families, boats and kids playing on the beach !

Founded just over 50 years ago, the village has grown into a mature and delightful holiday location, as well as a great place to live all year round.

Key features of the village include its marina, which is home to some of the most delightful boats and launches. Kinloch is also home to a world class Jack Nicklaus designed golf course, The Kinloch Club. Anyone with a slight interest in golf should play here, as it is truly one of the world's great courses. There is also a neat little 10 hole golf course too, which, often confused with its larger neighbour, is a most enjoyable round for a more fun and social experience.

The W2K and Kawakawa Bay tracks, completed in 2014, offer some of the countries best mountain biking and walking tracks. Each track offers between 13 and 20 kilometres of well formed trails, combining to give even the most hardy of mountain biker, a thrilling encounter.

Taupo itself offers an array of fine restaurants, cafes and shops. There are ample of activities in Taupo as well, include Jet boating, Huka Falls, Sky diving, Para-sailing, and of course some of the worlds finest fly fishing on one of the many rivers that feed the lake.
